Volunteer Police Cadets are young members of the community, typically aged between 13 and 18, who take part in a wide range of activities and events.
As well as learning about police procedures and the law, cadets play an important role in community events, engage with members of the public and help raise awareness of crime prevention.
The role is extremely varied and develops skills, confidence and teamwork through outdoor activities, camps, community events and local patrols. Groups are led by police officers, PCSOs and adult volunteers.
Eligibility
The schemes are aimed at young people who want to take part in their community, develop their knowledge and build experience through team activities and training.
